| Army Veteran | hey, the depression thread got me thinking. I've been considering talking to the VA for a while on some of the lingering effects of my time in service, but I'm concerned that an official assessment of PTSD may make it difficult for me to continue to own guns some time in the future. what do you guys think? I live in the free state, but does that really change anything with both the VA and the BATFE being fed entities? |

| NES Member | I don't know how it affects you owning guns. But if you think you need help, get it. I would think if you haven't done anything to break the gun laws, they can't hold the PTSD against you. I perosnally think there's not enough help out there for people with PTSD. | NES Member | Tim, you should be fine in NH. I know a few guys that have been coded by the VA, and they have no issues buying guns. You still need to come over sometime too. __________________ I am awesome. |

| Army Veteran | I guess I'm more concerned with things coming down the pipe... national healthcare reform + a govt that is very anti gun= new regs that are retroactive. I'm definitely not nearly as fubar as some guys I've seen... about all I have is a lasting anxiety that I can't seem to shake. I guess waiting to be blown up for a year straight will do that to you. anywho, thanks guys. And gonzo, you're right. you, timber, your little bro and I need to all g2g. |

non-issue. trust me on that. privacy act, HIPAA apply. again, unless there is LE involved or you get committed... or deemed a danger to yourself or others.... non-issue. we have people from all walks of life going and coming from deployments... teachers, firefighters, sales, plumbers, cops, engineers.... someone goes to a little group session twice a month... BFD. -they are getting the help they need. lots of resources out there... __________________ Stop & Shop Card Holder ![]() The purchase of Tin-Foil alone from NES should be enough to build a new landing pad for the black helicopters. - HalfCocked

we fired someone in our department, so we all had to go to a 4 on 3 off 3 on 4 off schedule of 0800-2000-0800 12 hour shifts to cover it all. so, I'm not quite as occupied on the weekends, but still pretty busy. in december I may take a saturday and sunday off... gonna have a few days of vaca and holiday pay I need to burn before the end of the year.
