Archery question for those in the know (I've only shot there).

My 8 and 10 year old daughters are a summer camp this year and doing archery regularly. They are really excited about it and asked if we could get a bow. Odd because they've shown little interest in shooting. Anyway, I just ordered them a recurve bow set with all the accessories and we're planning to take it to HSC once it arrives.

What's the target situation in the archery area? Is there anything there they can shoot at or will I have to bring my own targets? Just looking for a simple bullseye 10-15 yards out. I just can't remember how it's set up there.

There are known distance targets, including 10 and 20 yards, between the archery area and the 300 yard range. There are also 3d targets in the archery area and on the hill, between Class III and Cowboy

Help me understand, why would the random assortment on a hill and ratty hanging bag be a better choice than the KD targets of 10-60 yards when teaching kids? These lanes are on the same side as the archery area, which also has targets at suitable distances (up to 75 yards) without adding the complexity of shooting on a grade to someone who is just starting out.

Either way, I know we both hope @BMX and his kids have a great time loosing arrows (preferably, losing few). BTW - there's open archery practice (with capable instructors available) on Thursday nights. They're at the archery area for a few months still, then will move inside for winter.

The archery area in general is super nice so kudos to all of the people involved. I’ll have to stop by sometime on a Thursday.

I do wish we could do something about the magic gnomes that steal my misses in the 3d archery course.

Lots of great replies, the archery alley is a target rich environment, field points only and plenty of short range targets and also there are archery classes I think Thurs evenings
