  1. What did you do in the reloading room recently?

Yeah I don't shoot anything exotic, and I collect a lot of brass from training classes. So for me it just doesn't make sense. If you take a class like the Ridgeline one there's a thread about, half the people there in a 10-15 person class aren't picking up their brass. If you take the class and...
  2. What did you do in the reloading room recently?

http://giraudtool.com/giraud-cartridge-case-annealer.html If you're gonna do it, here is the Giraud. $500 plus accessories.
  3. What did you do in the reloading room recently?

Never have. Seems like a big investment for little return. I have so much brass it would take me a decade of shooting tens of thousands of rounds per year to consume it all to failure.
  4. DIY: Shovel AK - photo tsunami warning!

    Bump for any noobs here.
  5. Ridgeline May 2021 Scoped Carbine Class

As a note I'm not shitting on red dots. I'm 100% sure I can engage targets at 600 with an Aimpoint with reasonable results. The class is just framed specifically around scopes.
  6. Ridgeline May 2021 Scoped Carbine Class

They don't tell you to do anything. They show what each of them are using and give you examples of situational usage. The rifle you use for this class is not a rifle you would kick doors down for a living with. That's not the intent of this course. This is specifically a scoped rifle, medium...
  7. Ridgeline May 2021 Scoped Carbine Class

I found the pics of my rifle and the thread. https://www.northeastshooters.com/xen/threads/shooting-training-and-gun-videos-post-them-here.269082/post-4856522 Scope and mount top left are still used on my primary rifle.
  8. Ridgeline May 2021 Scoped Carbine Class

SFP scopes are IMO completely useless and stupid. The only reason companies make SFP is it is cheaper because it requires less pieces of glass. If you're looking at a SFP scope, stop. Buy a fixed power scope instead.
  9. Ridgeline May 2021 Scoped Carbine Class

I would use the same scope. I'm fact these are discontinued, but see them pop up occasionally for around $800 and one of these days I'm going to buy another.
  10. Ridgeline May 2021 Scoped Carbine Class

I would not buy a Vortex and the money is worth it for me to stick to Leupold. That scope I'm using was literally on an upper that blew up about 7 years ago and disintegrated. I took it and the LaRue mount it was on, bolted it to another upper and it was still basically zeroed. I'll try to find...
  11. Ridgeline May 2021 Scoped Carbine Class

If I was going to update my rifle, I would get one of these. Mark 8 1.1-8x24mm CQBSS M5B1 Front Focal https://www.leupold.com/scopes/rifle-scopes/mark-8-1-1-8x24mm-cqbss-m5b1-front-focal
  12. Ridgeline May 2021 Scoped Carbine Class

    I'm running a Leupolt MR/T M2 1.5‐5x on a 18" BCM NM 1:7. No issues.
  13. Ridgeline May 2021 Scoped Carbine Class

There was a very good mix of shooting and classroom teaching alternating. This class definitely changed the way I setup and use my main rifle. Specifically with respect to scope usage and having my rifle setup to effectively engage different distance targets (0-600) with as little thinking as...
  14. GOVERNOR OF TEXAS declares that his state is a Second Amendment ‘sanctuary statel’

I don't think people are particularly shitting on TX. The issue is the Gov acting like his state is some Mecca of unbridled 2A freedom which is clearly something he is not trying to accomplish.
  15. Ridgeline May 2021 Scoped Carbine Class

If you can shoot 2moa or better with that specific gun any mag fed rifle is fine. If you can't shoot 2moa or less, this class will be beyond your ability and you'll waste your time. Classes like this require a fair baseline confidence of your ability to call your shots and make them count so you...
