I'm not familiar with the Wilson you listed. I know a couple people with the BCM, and I believe it's less noisy than chamber style brakes. I haven't used the Griffin linear comp specifically, but I have a linear from Kaw Valley and another from a defunct shop and I'd pick a linear if I were...
might want to post this in the Mil Surp forum.... Higher concentration of people who might know.
Mil Surp Collectors
All I know about 22LR .mil trainers is that I've never seen a left handed one.
Anyone ever tried this for patterning a rattlecan rifle?
Scotch Restickable Glue Stick
It seems like it should work with paper - but I haven't tried it.
If you don't want to hand Brownells $12, next time you're at Home Depot, or Lowe's, or Ace....
1/4 in. x 2 in. Zinc-Plated Universal Clevis Pin-815418 - The Home Depot
I have an earlyish P14-45 (probably 1995 or 96) that's been relatively trouble free, although it doesn't have enough of a round count to really stress it out. When it was new it did try to spit out the hinge pin on the adjustable rear sight every 100 rounds or so, until I raised a nice burr on...
I forgot about that communist tendency to call all their guns the same thing - CZ52, VZ52 and the like.
And had no idea they had an M70 pistol, too. If they come out with an M70 shotgun, I'm buying the whole set.
:D
Sometimes I think Zastava doesn't quite get marketing.
So, the new Zastava M70 does sound like a damn fine AK
but this is also a current production Zastava M70...
I really like my M70, because left hand 375 H&H that don't require a home equity line are kind of uncommon - but it's sure no AK.
Yes, 6.5 Grendel has it's own AR bolt. 6.5 G has the same case head diameter as 7.62x39, but the depth cut into the bolt face is different. And there are two variants of the 6.5 G AR bolt out there, so research before buying.
6.5 Grendel: Type I vs. Type II
I've tried to convince myself that if it's going to be a bench rifle, right handed would be fine. It hasn't worked yet. Closest I've got is embracing the left bolt, right port configuration, so I'm working up to right/right.
The Howas I've run into have looked good, just not left handed enough for me. 😁 Ought to be entertaining in 6.5 Grendel. It's optimized for a different application, but I think it'll work just fine in a bolt. I'm interested to hear how it works out. I've thought about a Grendel AR, but can't...
I agree that if you aren't going AR, get one of the other 6.5s for a bolt action. If you aren't going to reload, the 6.5 Creedmoor is probably the easiest ammo to find. If you are going to reload, there's even more choices. I've got a Savage 110 in 260 AI, and I have considered a 6.5 Grendel...
There were some early ones (mid-2000s) that Century ground the bolts to set headspace when assembling the used parts, which was not an original manufacturing method. There was a lot of discussion and arguing over whether this was an acceptable practice, or if the Century CETME failures were just...
Sounds to me like you're headed in the right direction. I ended up with one of the CETMEs with the bolt Century ground - the barrel on mine does need to be reset. Not an impossible job, but I've been putting it off for 15 years now. Maybe the post retirement project list will pick it up...
Range gun, I'd put the original back on with some Loctite Red and call it a day. If there were a chance I'd be using it without hearing protection, I'd replace it with a thread protector (or linear compensator, I guess) as I'd like my tinnitus to not get any worse. I don't class 308 as a...
I bought a Storm Lake to convert a Glock 21 to 10mm. Very accurate barrel - I'd buy another from them anytime. I was a bit less impressed with the 10mm conversion - it ejected reliably, but not consistently. No FTEs, but would not always drop brass in the same pile, liked tossing some of them...
