Someone was telling me about a change with the 10/22 safety? and maybe something else but could not really explain it as they didn't know much themselves. Can someone enlighten me?
Thanks
The new 10/22's now have a nylon(plastic) trigger housing. As far as the safety I believe it is still the same, haven't played with a new one yet. If he was referring to adjusting the safety after some trigger work there are tricks to that. Jim
I have both the metal and plastic versions, they look pretty much identical to me. I made a special tool to help get the safety back in over the detent spring, bascially just a wooden dowel with a tapered cut at the end.
I dont know about a change in the safety. The push button safety has been around forever and still works fine, but they did change the magazine release button to a lever. Maybe he was thinking of that.
Yeah, he was pretty unsure so the trigger guard material change may have been it or maybe the mag release.
When did the mag release change become std. issue?
I hate to see Ruger too, start and go cheap. I'd rather pay a few bucks more for a gun and keep the quality.
I agree - given the 2 parts that most people don't change on a 10/22 are the receiver and trigger housing (internal parts are of course changed regularly).
Make a quality receiver, bolt and trigger assembly and I don't care about the rest.
I may buy a tactical innovations receiver for my next build, depends on what I can get a store to order it for? I hate paying the transfer fee etc....
