1911 Barrel Help

I still have a 1911 barrel, and after researching find out it may be vintage piece, but want to make sure before I say so in a sale. Anyone know of a person who is reputable in being able to identify barrel markings on it?

The research I did find out was that when a lot of 1911's were sent to the armory for refinishing Colt took a lot of their sales (civilian/commercial) barrels and stamped them with a P. Want to make sure the research I did was in fact correct in identifying this.

Karl Karash, in Berlin ( I think) is a local who's VERY knowledgable. ( his 1911s are in reference books.....)
