Does anyone know if any of the various 22 kits will fit a S&W 1911?. Just spent 20 min on the phone with them and was on hold the entire time.

I ordered a gsg kit from palmetto, was only $150. should have it this week ill post up when I try it out to see if its worth while of not.

It's a 1911, right? I'd think *ANY* .22LR conversion for a full-size 1911, will work on it, unless there's something about a S&W 1911 that makes it significantly different from any other 1911 frame.

I have an Advantage Arms 'Target' kit on my Sig 1911. Runs like a top.

I bought mine from an eBay seller, New In Box. Saved a little $$ vs buying direct.

I have the same on my SR1911. No issues with it thus far, and I know it's more accurate than I am!

I have the Kimber .22 kit. Haven't tried it on my SR1911, doesn't fit my Cimarron well at all, but it fits and works with my S&W 1911 like they were made for each other, absolutely perfect.
Not sure if it's true but I've heard S&W actually makes a lot of major components for Kimber, if this is true it could explain why this combination works so well. I have pics I can add to this post later when I'm home.

Curious if your Kimber Kit fits your SR1911. Bought mine off Gunbroker and was wondering if it was out of spec since the company who sold it to me made it clear that it has a NO RETURN Policy.

I get out of work in an hour, and home a little while after that. Now I'm curious as well so I'll put the two together and let you know how it feels. The Kimber conversion on the Cimarron frame is ridiculously tight when manually working the slide, and is a jam-o-matic. I'll compare the Kimber on the Ruger to how it feels on the Smith, which works perfectly. If it feels good I'll try it out at the range next time I go.

Well I had some interesting results! Yesterday after work I tried the Kimber conversion on my SR1911 and was baffled. The short answer is NOPE.

Well, the slide to frame fit of the rails wasn't bad at all, however there was one major issue. Instead of having a barrel-link like a .45 upper, the .22 barrel just extends down further and has a hole running through it for the slide stop. For the life of me I couldn't get the slide stop in there to have it all together. I gave it numerous attempts, and even tried it again on my S&W to make sure the .22 upper hadn't been damaged at some point. Still fits the S&W like a glove. And even though it doesn't work well on the Cimarron, it at least goes on and everything lines up. I examined the issue with its fit on the Ruger closely, and the slide-stop holes are just ever so slightly off, like a fraction of a millimeter, but far enough to keep it from going into the .22 barrel at all. Looks like I won't be using it on my Ruger ever, and will make sure to specify this when recommending this conversion kit, which again, works perfectly on my S&W.

I had the same issue with the barrel-link and slide stop not lining up. I also have a very tight fit between the slide and the frame. The Kimber 22 conversion kit is definitely not the best fit for the Ruger SR1911. Thanks for checking Nemo
