Back when we used to do rat shoots at the dump my dad would X the 22shorts With a buck knife. It used to give the rats a bit more expansion.
Although i dont bother anymore the best way to try and get better accuracy from cheap ammo. Sort by rim thickness, bullet diam and COAL.
