My dad would always tell us anytime you change ammo type you need to clean your gun especially the chamber. 22 long rifle his theory will always was.The rim thickness varies greatly. The bulletproof are always always different, and the case could be just long enough to cause problems if there’s any carbon buildup in the chamber. Showing inspect a brass that doesn’t work look for carbon rings around the bullet, and check how the firing pin is hitting the rim. I have adopted this theory and I very very rare have problems with any 22 or 22 ammo other than the results on target. But I don’t buy ammo by the box or the brick I buy at 5 to 10,000 rounds at a time, and I tend to stay with ammo that works well and any 22 I own. So I don’t clean my 22s all that often.
