I did a test run with my SOTAbeams WSPRlite Flexi, LP Filter kit, 40m EndFed and Mountain Topper Tuner using a small battery bank for power. Fortunately the battery bank didn't need the Keep-Alive as I lost it! I tested 5W with my Elecraft KX2 and adjusted to SWR 1.4 low. A Mix31 ferrite bead on the antenna and counterpoise as well. Good RX average 1000km+.

I'll bring the rig up 19-07-22 WSPR40m.png Mount Bolton on the Vermont Long Trail this Wednesday 24th July and run overnight. Listen for me! Or look for me on www.wsprnet.org

[Edit] While this image shows spots from my programmed expected QTH in VT it’s a test run from home near MHT, NH.

Spots were fewer but similar to the same antenna orientation from down in Manchester NH.

I might try a 20m inverted V Dipole next time as the 40m EndFed is probably very lossy - with 200mW there’s not much to lose!
