Got my 300 Blackout upper from Noveske a few weeks ago and finally got a chance to shoot it last night at an indoor range thanks to a friend. First off the upper is very nicely made and came with a feww adaptors for a forward grip, flashlight and what ever other paraphenalia you might want.Handguard is round, ventilated and made of aluminium and barreli lenght is 16" with a brake whose name escapes me at the moment. The charging handle is large but not too large and can be operated with one finger. Fired only 20 rounds out of it and accuracy is good though the 25 yd range is a bit short. virtually no recoil and its bark is quite mild for a 30 caliber round. The lower is a S&W lower whose trigger left something to be desired, but I have another lower with a McCormick trigger that I will try at a later date. Brass is made from 223 brass and I made 500 cases over the last 2 weeks,if you decide to get one of these uppers get or borrow a saws all you'll be glad you did. My only complaint even with a starting load of H110 and a generic 110 gr round nose bullet this upper throws brass a long way and gouges up the rim on the brass. I"ve ordered a heavier buffer spring and a H2 buffer that will hopefully slow down the bolt and not gouge up the brass. All in all I'd buy another upper from Noveske again once my checking account recouperates.

As much as I would like to I've nver had good luck posting pics, but if you go to the Noveske website go to their product dept scroll down to the last item 16" rogue rifle and that's very close to what I have.

No problem, You know I was just kiddin around right?

Believe me if I could post pics I would. The 300 Whisper and the 300 Blackout are essentially the same. The Blackout will have a major ammo maufacturer (Remington) and a SAAMI standard preasure, case dimensions etc. JD Jones has a lock on the name "Whisper" aand anyone using that name is openning them selves to a copyright suit.

I'm not too familiar with this round. How does it compare to the .300 Whisper?

Same cartridge, commercialized. It also has a slightly different throat to keep pressures down with hotter loads.
Also the name ".300 Whisper" is trademarked. There are two or three identical cartridges with different names. I have a 30-221 made with a PTG reamer and no royalties paid to the trademark owner.

Some of the chamberings are slightly different in dimensions, such as the 30-223 which has a slightly larger neck diameter. It is not a good idea to substitute these cartridges without a clear understanding of exactly how your gun is chambered.
The same situation occurred during the early days of the .22-250 cartridge.
