Picking up my first hand gun after work. Super excited!

I am buying a Remington R1 1911 - I was tossed up between that or the Enhanced model but I rather spend the 200 dollar difference on Ammo and "Clips" hehehe I mean Magazines. Can someone tell me if 1911 Mags are interchangeable or a descent brand to buy? And hopefully within the next few weeks will pick up my G21.

Today is dragging some serious ass though.

Either choice is solid, but every time I hold the advanced I want one...just feels really solid and I love the sights. In any case, yes 1911 magazines are interchangeable.

A couple great purchases everyone should have a 1911 and my new to me G21 has been awesome.

I can recall many a work day where my productivity was pathetic because all I could think about was the gun that was waiting for me at the FFL or in a box from Brown Santa at home.

Awesome choice by the way. I held a stainless R1 a while back and I really wanted to throw the credit card down. I'll probably buy one when my project car is done. Funds are being devoured by that car!

Congrats be sure to post photos.. Wilson combat mags are great I own a few . But I also own some cheep Mec Gar mags that I got through the Springfield Armory loaded program that run awesome.

Just make sure when you are sleeping with the gun tonight it's not loaded. LOL Congrats.

Good for you ! I'm a wheel-gun guy myself (My first will be a .357), but I understand you can't go wrong with the 1911 format. Enjoy !

2 MORE HOURS

**DUN DUN DUNNNN**

Hah I've definitely been there before. It was one of the longest Mondays of my life. I picked up a SW1911SC E Series a while back. Those things had waiting lists for quite some time and I couldn't find one anywhere.
I finally found one on display at a gun shop on a Saturday. Once I convinced myself to buy it, I had to wait until after work on Monday to go grab it.
The second I got off, I called the shop, told them to put it on hold because I was driving there to buy it. Their response was, "uhh... Ok! Thanks!!" haha

1911 r1 basic was my first gun only a few months ago...
I blew by a cop doing 90 on 93 south from dracut going to 4 seasons lol...

Field strip the gun and clean it and reoil it. It had this weird stuff on mine like the new end mills I get at work.

I got it. Its nice and fits perfect into my hand. I am new to hand guns so I will strip and oil it soon, I can't shoot it till next weekend at the earliest.
