5.56 NATO Two-Tone Brass

Stupid question of the day. I did a search didn't see an answer.
So why is most of the 5.56 NATO brass two-tone? It looks to me like it's fire formed or something. What is the advantage?

This is an incredibly clever gadget. But in the time it takes to make it, i could probably have a few thousand annealed already with a pair of channel locks, a Turbo torch and a 12 pack. Besides, u still have to stand there and feed it. Definitely very cool
