Anyone shooting .50 Beowulf? My son just bought one and with Alexander Arms ammo it's awful. I'd call a 6" 100 yard group off the bench with a scoped rifle, pretty bad. He's a very good shot.

.50 Beo was designed for use under 100 yards.
Which is why I asked about the barrel.Perhaps, but with 325's to 350's both the .458 and 50 Beowulf are still above 1500 fps. Yeah, the BC's suck for these projectiles but that's still no reason for the OP's son to get 6" groups at 100 unless something is up with the loads and/or upper; or the wind is gusting like crazy. These things are still carrying 1600 to 1800 ft lbs of energy at 100 yards.
