A few years ago, I bought some clear PVC. I had built, several years prior, 2 potato canons with my daughter for a science fair experiment. (Aqua Net. ALWAYS Aqua Net.)

Anyhow, I used the plans and some of the igniter parts from one of hte canons to build a CLEAR potato gun.
