Are there any Mass compliant 1911 styled handgun available? I think the S&W 1911 can be had but it's priced a little steeply right now. For me there is nothing like the trigger on a 1911. Thanks...

The Pro Series S&W1911 in 9mm is compliant, as you mentioned, and it has a sweet trigger (mine broke at 3.75 lbs). I have since sold mine, but it was a great shooter.

9mm 1911s are fairly uncommon and not terribly popular, so you may have a hard time tracking down a non-compliant model. Another option, if you can find one, is the STI Spartan. MSRP is $754, and available in 9mm.

I'm having a bad experience with my Rock Island. On its way back to Nevada for the second time. I bet I've run 2 mags through max without a jam. Some of the jams have been truly impressive and took real effort to clear.

I had a Taurus 1911 in 9mm and it was a nice gun. After a couple months I traded it for a Remington 1911, I just like the 45 better in a 1911. If you can find a used one, it was a nice gun esp in stainless
