While at a gun show down in VA, I scored 2 brakes that are pretty cool looking, for cheap money. I also picked up a few Uzi mags to attempt a 9MM AR build. One of the brake's I am going to use for a 223 upper, but I was wondering if I could just bore out the end of the other one to a 9MM size for use on my new sub gun project. What do you guys think?

I have a 9mm upper and the flash suppressor looks exactly like the one on my 5.56 upper. I'll measure it and let you know what the diameter is. You may already know this but if you're installing a 9mm upper on an ar15, you need to install a 9mm hammer. If it's going on an m16 lower, you must use the full auto hammer. I found that out when I put in the 9mm hammer and the gun wouldn't function in full auto.

cool, thanks for the help, i already have the 9MM hammer sitting on my bench, along with the rest of the parts, still just need the lower.

The 9mm flash suppressor has different threads than the 5.56 one. The 9mm one is 1/2x36 and the 5.56 is 1/2x28.

Did you check with S&W? They had lowers recently and the price was very reasonable. I think the price was about $160.00 for a stripped lower.

Hmm I didn’t realize the thread difference; I have not attempted to thread it on. If I decided to go SBR and have the barrel cut I could just re-thread it right?

I will look into the S&W, thanks for the heads up.

Diffrenr threads so you won't use the wrong size brake. Remsport can bore out your brake and rethread it to the 9mm size or we can rethread the barrel.
Contact Remsport Mfg. in the dealer forum on NES.
