What's your opinion on them? I have all of the parts to build a 9MM but I am not sure if I really have a need for it. I bought all the parts including the RRA upper back when uppers were impossible to find with the idea of building it into a HD gun, but have kind of lost interest. All of the parts have never been fired and are taking up room in my case.

Some of the Glock mag lowers look cool, but I don't know if I want to bother with an other caliber rifle.

What would you do? Sell the parts and start over on a new 556 upper, or build it up shoot cheap ammo?

Thanks
Ed

Sell them to me for pennies on the dollar. [wink]

I still have an '08 and '09 NES lower sitting in my safe. I'm not setup to, nor have the patience to load 5.56 right now. I do load a lot of 9mm though. I was thinking of making one a 9mm and the other a .22LR.

If I don't get a good argument to keep them, we may talk. I did just by an M1A and .308 is not cheap. [smile]

I had a 9mm upper for my SBR that I kick myself for selling now and then. Great fun caliber for an AR though.

Maybe i'll build a 16" 9mm on the Delaware lower I have kicking around.

I say if you have the parts, build it up.
For me there's just something fun about a slow moving 9mm at distance. With a 5.56 all you hear is a loud report & you don't see or feel any real result exept for a instantaneous .22 hole down range.
I was thinking about building one back in the day but after thinking for awhile, I realized I had a Glock 17 colecting dust so I opted for a MechTech carbine kit.
I found one used in a gun shop for 200$. I can use 33RD stick mags & get exelent, reliable performance out of it.
It's super cheap compared to 5.56 & great for bowling pins.
My 9mm handgun reloads work great.
The only problem I ever had was at a USPSA rifle match. One stage had a Texas star at 100 yards. After quickly shooting off the first two plates, the thing started spinning around & I couldn't lead the remaining plates properly.

I agree with saltydude, if you have thew parts build it. I have a few 9MM uppers for some AR's and it is a lot of fun. Find as many preban mags as you can! The 9mm does have a place in the AR family!

there's a glock lower, an uzi lower, i'm sure i'm missing a bunch. there are a few different mag well blocks you can throw in there as far as uzi mags go.

my 9mm uses modified sten mags with a piece of steel welded to it and with a hole punched out for the mag catch. zero modifications to the lower other than the 9mm engraving. i've considered a mag block just because the uzi mags are more reliable, one of the mags i have is a real PITA and likes to jam.
