I'm actually starting to believe that. It seems like every time there's a renewed push for gun control there's another mass public shooting. In 2012, right after Obama was reelected, the democrats made a push for renewing the failed AWB, and a few weeks later we have Sandy Hook. A year and a half ago, there was a renewed push for a new AWB and we get Vegas. Then after that there's a huge push for banning bump stocks. Right as that push is heating up, we have Parkland and Texas. Yesterday, Nancy Pelosi threatened that when we get a Democrat in the Whitehouse, they would declare the 2A a national emergency and use it abolish civil rights throughout the country, and today we have yet another mass shooting.

but they have extreme gun control laws in Illinois. I guess that will be the example the dems use to fight for a 2A total gun ban. Gun control doesn't work so we need a ban is what they'll say....

Well, no. Didn't you hear. All the gun violence in Chicago/Illinois is due to the lax gun control laws in Indiana (actual paraphrased quote). People legally can buy guns in Indiana (meaning they're a resident of Indian or are buying a gun they can legally possess in their home state and following all federal laws for said purchase) and then going to Illinois to commit crimes.

In Chicago they have an average of 5 shootings per day, and one murder per day.

This is just an average day...
