Active shooter response tool coming to Taunton schools. What is it?

Actually, modern schools (new construction) do have cameras covering everything except the bathrooms and most of the classrooms. Any common area is going to be on a camera somewhere.
I figured at this point that would be the case. I did residential for years, now I do industrial (water plants and waste water treatment, etc). With a live camera feed and a 3D model PD and other tactical teams can plan out exact routes prior to even leaving the station. On entry an iPad could do the same and the command in rear could monitor for the parking lot.

As the original article states no one wants to use this but in this case I think technology will absolutely help if it necessary to use it.

Six schools in my SoNH town - every town LEO is assigned to walk the halls and campus twice yearly for a day each. Not a bad idea.
