IMO, he doesn’t necessarily have to worry about concealing his identity during the crime. He could potentially dawn an N95 at any time and it would be looked at as very ordinary. Change gait slightly, shave head and pop on a baseball hat. Even get creative and spray on a little bronzer and pop on a keffiyah. He pulled off the hardest part which is getaway immediately after, and I cannot recollect a shooting of this magnitude in which the perpetrator was able to escape this efficiently in recent times; as the guy in Dallas was barracaded in a parking lot and was subsequently blown to smithereens by an EOD bot.
