The American Derringer Corp Model 2 Pen Pistol is a cute little number that converts from a "pen" to a pistol. It's legal because it won't fire until it is 'bent' into the shape of a pistol. Sorta.

Where is the flipping serial number? It was manufactured from '93 to '94 so it has to have one.

His is a .22lr and he has a .380

He thinks it is on the chamber/barrel after you unscrew it from the front. He will look when he gets home. He is my uncle and lives in MA so I could look sometime if he can't find it.

I don't suppose you could ask him where the s/n is located?

The one in question is a .25 ACP - I'm kind of curious how it will work, but I'm not expecting it to be terribly accurate. . .

My dad has one in .25. Tried it and it's not accurate whatsoever (nor is it meant to be). The .25ACP just barely buried itself in a 4x4

This pen pistol is made for in your face up close hope you can shoot them in the eye, before they kill you sort of firearm.I have the 25 acp one and after about 4 shots your thumb starts to hurt. The SER. NO. is located were the barrel unscrews. I will try to post pictures but that never works very well.

The pic is clear enough it should lead me to the s/n. Thank you!

ps. I don't think I'd want to rely on it even for that purpose, but it is cool as heck, isn't it?!

A decent demo. of this gun on YouTube:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8H5aYO08qh8

I especially like the way the demonstrator pointed the pengun at the target, what, 10 yards away? And when he fired, the gun visibly twisted and shot up and the right about 45 degrees.

Look Ma! I got my groups down to 50 feet!

Don't get me wrong, I like it. But then, I like a lot of completely impractical and/or useless things, like my kids for instance!

I may be off here. But, weren't pen guns reclassified by ATF as AOW's and thus in need of registration?
cool toys. Just make sure you know the status before you take them out in public.

No to both questions, actually.

Because this particular "pen" gun has the be bent into the shape of a pistol, it's a legal pistol, only it is about as useful for self defense as that rubber band pistol I posted a while ago.

A "pen" gun that shoots while still looking like a pen is good for a lengthy stay at Uncle Sam's Bed & Breakfast.

Negative, because when you shoot it, it looks like a gun
