I had emailed at the end of Sept as well as the middle of November asking for status updates, trying to give them the benefit of the doubt as many places have been swamped with orders. I had emailed the info@ email address and got no response. Emailed the support@ email address couple days ago finally fed up and asked for a refund since I ordered in January and did at least expect to get the product by the end of the year. After all, the madness has calmed down and I've been able to get lowers and uppers from other small businesses no problem.
Got a response last night stating that they never got an email from me, and they had some of the billet uppers kicking around and could probably send me one next week and that they are still way behind on producing their billet uppers. The uppers on the website are still at this moment being advertised as being ready in June/ July of 2013. Still no word on the lowers that are advertised as ready in late 2013.
Was also told they could issue me a credit at a 15% RESTOCKING FEE, or I can take it in store credit. I find it not only bad business, but pretty insulting to charge a customer a restocking fee for a product that they admit they have not even produced yet (the lower). They have held my money (over $500) for 12 months, and I still have no product.
The thing that kills me the most is that I'm all about supporting small businesses, especially one that's in the NE, in occupied territory (upstate NY) and a strong 2A supporter. I purchased the lower because it was the DRFT special edition and a family member in MA is a big supporter of DRFT, and so am I. I think I'm going to post about this in the general discussions area as well to give people a heads up.
Should have done this earlier, but just googled them and found a thread on a different firearms website with nothing but bad things to say, and a bunch more pissed off customers.
