For those who responded to "Opinions wanted..." I made my purchase….tried a lot out….directly from your suggestions.
There were two I particularly liked and got the “gut feeling” when I picked them up. The S&W M&P compact 340 and the S&W 642CT. Although I do have a 9MM, I have to say the M&P felt right, and I like the interchangeable grips. So it was my choice.
I am definitely going back to get the 642CT – nice .22 and I do want one.
It had to be the right time - M&P was on sale for $489 and an additonal mail-in $50 rebate from S&W with 2 free mags. The planets were in alignment…
