Hello-I am thinking of buying a compact glock model 27. I was wondering if there are owners out there who can give some insight to this gun.
thanks in advance

My husband has one, and uses it as his primary carry gun. It it a great gun, I love it too. He has never had any issues with it..

Given the choice.. I opted for a g26.. The 40 has too much flip for me.. Great series of guns though. hard to go wrong.

Ditto. I suggest that OP shoot one before buying one. Some (like me) find the recoil unpleasant, while others have no problems with it. Better to be sure that you'll like it before laying down the $$.

I recently picked up a 27. It is not range gun by any means. I shot 150rnds through it in one session. By the first 50 rnds I was wishing I brought along another gun to shoot. It's painful. BUT I did not buy it to have fun at the range with. It has become my EDC and does a very fine job at that. I think with a little work on my grip it can be a bit more enjoyable to shoot, but I will always bring another gun with me from now on.

I do agree with the shoot before you buy comments. I don't find the G27 recoil bad at all, but some do..

Buy a 26 instead. Cheaper to shoot, less painful, better resale value.

I will add... I have a 26 as well as a complete .357sig slide ( I think that's a 33). For whatever reason, I don't feel that the 357 is as miserable to shoot as the .40 (not as nice as the 9mm). I notice less flip/ whip. Feeding it stinks though..

I have about 2,000 rounds through mine. It's a fun and enjoyable gun to shoot. Excllent carry and super reliable.

The recoil is fine, unless your a big time sissy. My GF doesnt complain about the recoil.

Did you just call drgrant a "big time sissy"?

Yes, I confess, I am, I can't allow my frilly sissy hands to be damaged by the .40. [rofl]

Kidding aside, he's mostly right... hell, anyone can likely -handle- a 27.... it's just that a 26 is probably going to be more comfortable to shoot for most, especially over a higher round count.

Of course all things are relative. Firing 1000 rounds through a G27 is like hitting a pillow with your fist compared to, say, shooting 5 or 10 rounds out of one of those 12 ounce j-frame revolvers with full power .357 magnum in it. That... that is just f**king pain. .500 S+W doesn't kick that hard!

My G27 is easier to shoot than my G23 or G22. It is much more fun and easy to shoot and plink with my G26. I know, it sounds sissy-like, but I guess I'm becoming a sissy. My hand really hurts after a 200 round session. It could also be the 47 years of abuse.

G27 is a great gun. I had mine for a few years and just sold it a few weeks ago. Great carry piece. I only sold because I also have a G23 that I carry often and I needed to fund a new rifle.

For quite a bit less money you can buy a G23 which is only slightly larger.

I fired a Smith 340PD with 125Gr Corbon 357's and loved the brutal recoil. Mind you, I wouldn't run a whole box through it in one session, but that thing was just fun! I must be a glutton for punishment.

To get back OT, I have a G27 and a SuperTuck, and I wear the thing all day and it's comfortable and easy to conceal. Recoil isn't bad, but I prefer to shoot my Glock 22. .40 is very snappy, but the two stage guiderod in the G27 helps quite a bit. You can always buy a G27 and convert it to 9mm.
