Hi

This is my first post on NES, but I have been lurking and learning here for a long time. I am fairly new to shooting but have been going to the public range in Barnstable for a while. I have really gotten into the sport now and its time I join a club. I live in N. Fal so it would be great if I could get into this club. Any members out there willing to possibly sponser a new member???

Thanks
Paul

sadly, i've kinda given up on Monument Beach, even though I live in the town, am well known in town, coached and taught there, owned a business, and not a jerk, i don't think.....I know the current president and vp for 30-40 years, evidently officers can't sponsor, and don't know anyone else there. Went to two gun shows there, two shoots, and a monthly meeting and dinner........mingled , talked to dozens of people, yet, no one interested in sponsoring me. So, my best friend and i, both disabled seniors, joined New Bedford, and hopefully Plymouth soon. Even though both are a hike for us, and MB would have been better, given our locations and disabilities, at least we are welcomed.

I hear ya, I've been to meetings, the show and a shoot too, and just like you say, nothing, no one interested in being a sponsor. I will have to look into NB and Plymouth now too, it seems that the public range in Barnstable isn't going to be that great either!

Ya, just read the posts here on the Barnstable range situation,...........wtf, three days a week ?...no way I am goin back there. NB is really neat, lots of room on the pistol and rifle ranges to shoot.....not crowded the two times i've been there, and cheap ! unfortunately, no indoor pistol range...we're going to look into plymouth for that now. As far as monument beach is concerened, not sure, but, i am guessing the difficulty in members wanting to sponsor is that it is kind of a pain in the ass for them to do so..from what I have seen. The sponsor is committed to a lot, and those three readings you have to make at the monthly meetings? Is one's ability to make speeches relevant to being a good gun club member ? Not in my opinion. anyways , best of luck paul, keep in touch.
