Range near me doesn't allow rifle cartridges, looking for a place I dont have to join to get some range time with a rifle.

You need to be a bit more specific than MetroWest, as that covers a lot of territory.

That said almost every place in MA is a club requiring membership.

American Firearms School (N. Attleboro) allows .223 on their indoor range and rents lanes.

New to MA? Metrowest spans 40 miles from end to end.

Members here on NES are quite willing to help out and likely take you to their range as a guest, if they know where you are.

This. You can spend 20 bucks and go shoot it, but only about 75' if memory serves. I mean, if you are just looking to function test and make sure you are on paper, it is better than nothing. At 25 yards, your AR should be making one ragged hole.

If you need to join a club you may have to travel. I know our club has a pretty long waiting list (at least a year, if not more). I suspect a lot of places aren't taking new members.

Maybe a little out of Metrowest, but Granite State Range in Hudson, NH allows many rifles. Only out to 75', but shoot my 5.56 and occasionally my .308 to just make sure I am spreading the love.

Slugs are also fine for my shotgun
