Anyone bob a hammer on a model 60 ?

So I have this J-Frame model 60 that I'd like to pocket carry but I'm concerned about it snagging. Can I just have the trigger bobbed or does it require a replacement/drop-in bobbed hammer ?

I was going to have that done on a Mod 36 I had....a replacement hammer was the way to go.

I have owned a model 60 for over 38 years and used to pocket carry it lots. Never really had the problem with the hammer snagging but guess there could always be a first time.

I had one done by a gunsmith who bobbed the hammer and did a action job on it. Used as a BUG gun for IDPA.

I have bobbed many hammers. Easy to do with a little practice and the correct gear. S&W may still have some bobbed hammers through Customer service but not many if they do.

Any decent gunsmith can bob the hammer for you. Greg Derr can do it. Ty can do it -- I bought a snubbie 66 that he bobbed.
