For the first time in a long time, I am not carrying a j-frame smith.

I put the Rohrbaugh R9s into service today.

Anybody on here carry one every day?

Never carried one but held one at a gun show once.
When you say "put into service", do you mean you fired at least 500 rounds through it trouble-free before considering it worth your life?

With the R9 you can't even fire that many rounds through it without changing the recoil spring.

It's a neat gun but every video I've seen of someone shooting it looks painful to watch. (I think it'd still be fun to shoot one though... one of these days.... I think once in a great while one or two of them appear at NES shoots.)

Mike, you are welcome to fire mine. I don't know why you have such a negative feeling for this gun. All I can say, I love it. It's a very nice piece of great engineering and very precise machining. I did fire from it 50 rounds of defensive ammo in a row. I can't say it was my best range session, it kicks like a horse, but still very manageable and absolutely reliable in my experience.

Speedway, I tried carrying it for several days in a pocket holster. It's OK, but a little heavy for a pocket gun. In an IWB holster it's a pleasure to carry, but my work and lifestyle make me to prefer pocket carrying in most cases. I found for a pocket carry a can't find anything better than Ruger LCP, even given it's 380, not 9mm.

Being it's probably the smallest 9x19 gun ever produced (besides a derringer), it certainly has it's appeal provided it's reliable.
The price tag makes my eyes bulge.

JackO the LCP is a sweet little gun. Mine has eaten everything I've served it without hickup. It's a perfect BUG.

I see the R9 as just that though, a backup. It's a tiny little fecker. My Kahr K40 can be easily concealed and comfortable on the hottest of days. I still haven't figured a way to hide my LCP in an ankle holster with shorts on. ;)

Beautiful pistol. Unfortunately, if I owned one I would never let it out of the safe. Strictly a collector's item. Please take everything I have posted as a compliment.

Heavy?

I carried a steel framed S&W 357 in my pocket for the longest time. This thing feels like a feather in my pocket.

I had a little copy pistol (LCP) and it bit the crap out of my trigger finger every time I practiced with it.

I got a steal of a deal on the Rohrbaugh. My buddy needed some quick cash.
