So I recently went and picked up a Colt Defender 1911 in 9mm that I saw... brought it to the range last weekend and really liked how it felt and shot. Now I was wondering if anyone has one in .45 or someone who has shot both and how they compare. I am tempted to get one in .45 also just so I can shoot both. I have become slightly addicted to the 1911's over the last year and they are a joy to shoot!

I have one. It's my daily carry. Nice and light, reliable, light, it's .45, it's light.
I am according to some, not a good judge of recoil, but I don't think it's even noticeable.
I find it carry's well in a Crossbreed. The only complaint I have (and I honestly don't care) is that it marks up pretty easily. Again, I don't really care, but some might be bothered by it.

Where ya from? If you're close to me think I could try it sometime?

Well if you wanted to check out the Defender in 9mm I am right outside Worcester and a member at Worcester Pistol and Rifle Club. You are more than welcome to accompany me to the range there to check it out.

If I know that I'll be out there, I'll let you know.
