Would really like to see it before I buy. Any leads please advise.

I have one in 22 mag. that I ordered from one of big gun sellers, and shipped to my FFL.It's a fun little gun with a very light trigger. I am talking free pistol light, but it's not like the rifle is going to go full auto.LOL Yes the grip rail is stupid.

Wonder how an AFG or vertical grip would fit on the rail on the grip. Seems an odd place to put a rail otherwise.

Looks like it fits pretty well.

I was looking at getting one, myself. They're real cheap and they're take down guns, so I was planning on keeping it in my car. I take a lot of long trips on low-traveled roads, plus do some camping, so this is a good gun for worst case scenario type things.

Call Charlie at FTS guns he has a couple of them (you can also PM him on here cstockwell)

+1 saw it there last time I was in. Definitely looks like a fun little shooter but it feels like a toy in my hands. Trying to get it on my shoulder and it felt like I couldn't get by head down far enough to use sights

That's why I want to shoulder one before I buy....

I've got one, they're neat little things. Everybody that I've let try it has giggled. I concur with the comments about the stock and sights... I think the stock can be extended a little bit that might help, but I haven't tried it yet.

I have one. Picked it up at H-S Trading in Auburn about two months ago.

Ive only been shooting for under a year but i like the "takedown"concept for packing and the price was right.

Popped a cheapie Bushnell red dot site on and found that its very accurate out to 20 yds. Havent been able to go longer.

Trigger seems smooth to me and i like the fact that muzzle is threaded..

Gun seems to be no frills with simple mechanics, but it def feels somewhat cheap. Cheap plastic rails might not hold up. The stock is advertised as adjustable but mine was glued in.

All in all not a bad little plinker but how long it lasts might be suspect...

Oh, I'm sorry. This is what Chiappa sells on their site, though it does look like it would feel a bit wonky...

It is wonky. It helps out enough for accuracy but the way they designed the connection screw it can be tough getting a good connection. If the gun gets dropped the grip is toast..

When I first saw the thread title, I thought "I suppose you could carry it. It does come in a bag with shoulder straps".

It's surprisingly accurate, although awkward to get a good cheek weld, and the trigger is very nice.

I giggled also picking up the Henry Survival Rifle. I like the concept but I rather spend the money elsewhere.

I've never fondled this gun. But I have played with and shot the AR and the Marlin Papoose. If you want to actually shoot the gun, the Papoose is superior. I'd suggest a used one thats a few years old. Something prior to the Freedom Group Massacre of Marlin and its North Haven, CT staff.

Don

p.s. I love my papoose. I originally got it to keep in my airplane with the rest of my survival gear. Once I started shooting it, I really liked it. I sent the little barrel to YHM and they fitted it with a 1/2x28 threaded extension for a suppressor.

If you're willing to wait for shipping, Slickguns lists the .22 Magnum model for $152.12, free shipping, cash discount. Or if you want to charge it, $155 at Cheaper Than Dirt (or $141 for the 22LR).

I found a thread on another forum where a guy stripped it down, repainted, substituted the plastic rails with aluminum (just the most useful positions) and swapped out the 'hinge' bolt so it can easily be not just folded in half, but also works as a true tools-free takedown.
