Apex USB on a mp40

Looking to install the apex USB on my net m&p. This involves removing the rear sight. If I mark it before removal can I call it good? Will it cause me to have to realign everything?

Yup...When I put mine in I eye balled the rear sight when I reinstalled it and lucked out, POI was pretty much the same.

I just put it in the middle of the slide and it worked.

Mine was shooting about 3-4 inches left. If you mark it (I didn't and consider that a mistake) it should be pretty close to where it was if not the same.

But, mine came from the factory aaaalll the way to the right. So, anything is better than that..

I put a small piece of masking tape on the front edge of the rear sight and another on the slide and made a fine line mark with a ballpoint pen with a small steel ruler. That helped me tp get the rear sight pretty much where it was after I got the USB installed.

I test fired the gun from a bench rest and it was right on.

The best solution is to sight the gun in the old fashioned way, shoot it. If you can get your hands on a sight pusher this operation is quite easy.
