AR 15s from 1974 and earlier are C&R eligible for someone enterprising enough to take a road trip to another state. Just saying.

Why travel? Can't they can be sent licensee to licensee like any other C&R gun?AR 15s from 1974 and earlier are C&R eligible for someone enterprising enough to take a road trip to another state. Just saying.
You must be new here……..Why travel? Can't they can be sent licensee to licensee like any other C&R gun?
No, It had to be here on 8/1 to be exempt.I'm sure you could find a 50 year old AR15 but how could you register it under Maura's latest bullshit?
I guess you could sell it with a eFA10. Or just not register it till they come up with the Registration Process.I'm sure you could find a 50 year old AR15 but how could you register it under Maura's latest bullshit?

But they would need to be examining your bound book to know when it hit your collection.
If the right specimen crosses a collector's path, I'd say it's low enough of a risk given Snope federally and any case filed in Mass against 4885 under Canjura
Does the same rule apply, that you can only acquire firearms out of state that are legal to possess in your home state?Maura can't stop you from going out of state to buy a C&R Firearm. Question is can you, or do you want to Register it with the new uncreated Registration System. Sounds like you can't unless owned by 08-01-24. But what about a eFA10? The conundrum is the Federal Government allows you to buy a firearm but the sate says you can't have it. So what do you do with it?
I’ve used it for pistols and rifles. The law for c&r makes no distinction.Does the same rule apply, that you can only acquire firearms out of state that are legal to possess in your home state?
I don’t think the C&R is helpful unless it’s for off roster pistols.
I don’t think it’s a grey area at all for assault style firearms. There’s no carve out in the definition for C&R items. Maybe you can buy them, but it’s no different than a modern post 8/1 AR.I’ve used it for pistols and rifles. The law for c&r makes no distinction.
The clause for c&r eligibility was also left in the final bill signed.
So, I’m guessing this is another “gray area” made by the many criss crossing sections.
