Did you strip out the threads? What happened, was this during assembly or firing?

YUPlooks like you are trying to put a castle nut on an a1/a2 rifle extension tube.

Yeah. No castle nut on a rifle buffer tube.
You'd have figured that out when you tried to slide the A2 stock onto the tube. ha.
