AR handgaurd removal

hey guys, im a new AR owner and was wondering what was involved in replacing my handgaurd. im buying a used one and it comes with a barrel nut and thats it. is this all i'll need and how involved is this procedure? im a master mechanic so i cant see this being a very difficult procedure for me. thanks

All this time and I've been using a Sawzall.

depends on what the thing has for a handguard now.... is it a free float? stock? after market that uses the stock retainers?
can you at least post a picture of what the thing looks like?
