After many hours of research I think I'm going to build my first Ar.My question is what make would you guys recommend? Also what stores in Mass will do the transfer if I was to order from an online site? I've been looking at spikes alot,they have an ar15 stripped lower on sale for100 bucks.any input would be appreciated.

check out R guns they had delware stripped lowers for 65$ add 20 for shippin and 20 for transfer, still cheap

Try Remsport he has some for less than 100 bucks in the dealer clasified section.plus he has plenty of parts and knowledge in case you run into the inevitable snafu with your build.

Buy a stripped lower in-state. The transfer fee will make it not-worthwhile to order from anywhere else.

Yes they are. These are from the group buy last year. I think NES folks bought 200+ Delaware Machinery AR lowers in that buy and I have not heard one complaint about them. We also have Daniel Defense LPK's in stock.

Make sure its forged. Lots of good deals can be had online as well. AIM has their lowers for $59.99, and Spikes for $69.99. Alternatively, a lot of shops around here carry complete stripped lowers as well. I think the AIM/Spikes have the cooler roll marks though

I've built three of them. No issues at all, good tolerances. I built one into a service rifle that got me my expert card last year.

i am going with spikes as well. trying to order a new one from a local now but no luck with them getting back to me with a price. i would like a complete and have been told they are cheaper if you buy as a kit and do the assembly yourself but i havent heard back yet. a friend in FL sid he did a complete spikes build for under $800.
