I would like to change my AR trigger and make it alot smoother and shorten the take up. What have you tried and how does it work for you. Thanks

Rock River makes a good one at a reasonable price at least when I got mine.

I have tried JP, Timney, and Accuracy Speaks, all single stage. The Timney had a lot of creep so I returned it. The JP is my favorite for centerfire, but the Accuracy Speaks trigger is the only one that will reliably ignite 22LR in my Model 1 upper (heavier hammer spring). JP hammer and trigger pins are a great deal at less than $10 from Brownells.

PS The AS and JP triggers are very similar, but the JP has an over travel screw.

I have a White Oak Armament National Match trigger that's very nice. Two stage, standard is 4.5 pound (but can be made lower when you order), and a very crisp break. They start with a RRA national match trigger, and perform some nice gunsmith magic. With the first stage taking up most of the 4.5 pound pull, and the clean break on the second stage, mine feels lighter than it actually is. They had a relatively quick turnaround time on orders, at least before the current parts buying craze started. I'd buy another!

That is the route I would definitely recommend. I'm used to two-stage triggers, so that's what I know. I guess some of the tactical crowd like single-stage triggers for some reason (no weight limits in competition maybe?). I haven't seen a single stage that I like, yet. Tried a buddy's JP but I still think the second-stage of a two-stage WORR is crisper.
