Anyone have a .22LR dedicated upper for their AR? Obviously would also need the magwell adapter. What do you guys recommend? I'd like to build one with a 7-10 inch barrel as a complete upper assembly. Thanks in advance!

EDIT: Forgot to mention, I'd like something that can take preban mags if such a device exists!

Aren't the some of the A. Ciener kit preban?

I know that there are new kits like CMMG/BlackDog - according to their web site their mags will work with the Ciener bolt.....

I got a dedicated .22 upper from Spikes, and I love the thing - it runs flawlessly, looks great, and is reasonable accurate (haven't tested accuracy over 25 yards, but at 25 it shoots great).

The Black Dog mags are also spectacular - very solid and very reliable.

Unfortunately, I don't think you're going to find preban high caps for a .22 conversion. There might be some old high cap Ciener mags out there (Spike's upper is a modified Ciener design, so it will accept Ciener mags), but every Ciener mag I've ever seen has been a POS. I doubt they'd be worth the price.

But if you leave the state, Black Dog makes some great 27 rounders!
