what are these 2 screw looking things on the upper of a3s and a4s.

Those are the screws that help fasten the removable carry handle to the top accessory rail. When you loosen them the carry handle comes off and you can put other optics on top of the receiver.

They are the tension screws holding the detachable carry handle to the flat top upper.
