Are air rifles firearms in MA?

I don’t think that they are classed firearms in MA.

But I can’t find written law to prove this.

Can anyone post a link that proves the above from a credible source?

Start with the GOAL MA gun laws page: MA Firearms Law Reference | GOAL | Gun Owner Info - GOAL.ORG. Consult the definitions reference, noting that air rifles fire pellets or BBs, not "shot" or "bullets". Compare to the BB gun sections to see what IS regulated WRT air rifles

I was hoping to fine something that said “ airguns are not firearms” sort of thing.

Mass. laws are never clear.

According to Mass. law, rifles and shotguns are not "firearms", they're rifles and shotguns. But an SBR *is* a firearm.

Interestingly, C. 140 §121 ("definitions") doesn't exclude air guns from "firearms, rifles, or shotguns".

There are also weird quirks about a minor being in possession of an airgun: in some situations, the minor, that has an FID could lawfully be in possession of a real gun (e.g. Garand or 870), and not a Daisy.
