I'm looking for a FFL north of Boston that will order me a Shotgun from Bud's at Bud's FFL price, and then sell it to me at Bud's Retail price.

There's a $40 difference.

Bud's is pretty much a swear word at most FFLs. I wouldn't dare ask any dealer I respect to ever get me anything from Pud's.

you eyeballing that interstate arms shotty?

This one:

I'd actually be pretty pleased with a Mossberg Maverick 88 12ga 20" Model 31046, which usually sells for about $220.

But no one has one, or is all that interested in ordering one.

The Linberta, Bud claims is coming In Stock shortly, and they're taking pre-orders.

All you need to do is buy the gun direct from Bud's and have them ship it to your FFL who will do the transfer and charge the transfer fee. Contact any local FFL and tell them that you are having the gun shipped to them, tell them who it is coming from so they can send a copy of their FFL license.

I have never had an FFL say no to this. If they have the same gun in stock or can obtain at the same price then just get it from them. Of course the in state dealer is unfortunately at an immediate 6.25% price disadvantage in most cases.

Not sure which shotgun you are looking at, but, Bud's prices on shotguns aren't that great. If you want a real deal go to gunbroker and bid there. Otherwise give your local dealer the business because they can match most competitive pricing.

That's odd. When I walked in to Four Seasons a couple years ago to order a Mossberg #50452, it took me all of two minutes to have them order it.

That was B4 Sandy Hook. No one has the exact Mossberg I'm looking for, or will even quote me a fair price and order it for me.

I'd rather pay a fair price for more gun than I need, that pay a premium for a gun just because it's in short supply.

Just followed the Mossberg link. It's a "cheaper" 590.

This is the 590A1 Special Purpose w/ 20" barrel. No, I didn't make the bed.

Hanns-On in Nashua is on Buds pre-approved FFL list, as long as it's NOT a handgun, you can take delivery in NH on the 4473, then you have a week to FA-10 it to yourself here in Mass.

Thanks !

Worth keeping in mind.

Though I'd rather find an FFL that will buy from Bud's for $399 and sell to me for $439. That $40 is more than many make doing a transfer, and I'd save the Transfer Fee.

Most of the FFL's on the Mass south shore are just guys working out of their houses, rather than actual guns shops. When I went to look at Bud's gun shop deals which I found through: http://www.slickguns.com/ there were quite a few local FFL licensed dealers in my own town which Bud's deals with directly. I am seriously thinking about the Tisas (Turkish made) 1911 pistol I saw there for an unbelievable $399 for what seems like a really good quality firearm. For another $30 you can get the same gun with a stainless steel slide. It seems pretty sweet to me.

I don't think Buds will even ship that to a Mass FFL?? The only thing they are interested is shipping here is a bolt rifle, or a pre-ban Glock they can sell and make money on. I asked them when I was looking to buy a Mossberg 500 SPX, and they said no black tactical shotguns to Mass?? They suck the big one!! I ordered mine from Impact Guns and had it shipped to an FFL with no problems.

I really like that Turkish 1911, too. But I doubt it's on the MA LIST. If you live elsewhere, though, you may be in luck.

If it were legal, and you were using Four Seasons in Woburn, you could ship it there for $399 plus $40 Transfer = $439. Or just buy their Auto-Ordnance 1911 for $499. For a $60 difference I'd probably go with the Auto-Ordance myself (made in Worcester, too).

Of course if you live South of Boston, Mass Firearms will transfer for $25. But I don't think the Turkish 1911 is on THE LIST.

Why not have it mailed to a NH FFL ? Long Guns should not be too difficult. Just buy it in NH and file a FA-10.

I have not done this. Is it that simple ?

Fred

I bet South Boston Guy knows that 1911's are SEMI-AUTO.

Talking about "AUTO" makes you sound like some announcer on NBC. I know you know better.

But the point is made: If you live in MA buy Handguns ONLY from MA Dealers. Otherwise you may end up afoul of the law.

And referring to any 1911 as being "not MA Legal" makes you sound like a noob who should read more stickies before starting threads. [rolleyes]

I think Fred probably meant autoloading.

Agreed.

It's just that all the Dumbasses hear the word AUTO and their minds explode. Your average Liberal thinks we are buying Machine Guns.

Just suggesting we need to be more careful than ever about the accuracy of the terms we use. Just one man's opinion.
