Are there any ranges actually IN Boston?

I only see surrounding areas. I'm a new gun owner looking for a range. I can't seem to decide where. Traffic going out of Boston after work is terrible, but I'm guessing that's something I'm going to have to deal with. I work in Cambridge by Kendall Square and I live on Mass Ave closer to Boston Medical Center.

For now I'm looking into Braintree Rifle club since my GF lives in Braintree.

Just one, in Fields Corner (Dorchester) near the T station, IIRC.

Don't know whether this is still valid, and can't check while at work (firewall.)

There it is, in all its glory.

Indoor, handgun only IIRC. And my assessment of the area is that you don't want to walk around with anything visible that cries out "gun" or the bangers will have your toys and perhaps your life too.

There are clubs North of Boston and BR&P is the closest South of the City.

BGRA does not seem to have a working website or FB page.

Pistol caliber rifles are allowed too. It's really not that dangerous a neighborhood, especially during the day.

Wow, I used to be around this area a lot and never knew that was a gun range. I pass by all the time, even eaten at the place next door before it became what it is now.

So... I guess I should just stop by one day and talk to them. Thanks guys.

Entrance they want you to use is off 7 Faulkner Street and not through the 1483 Dorchester Ave entrance. Or at least it was a few years ago.

MVGC has a much nicer facility and upkeep compared to what I remember at BGRA.

BRP is also worthwhile looking into along with the Weston Shooters' Club if you have that kind of coin.

I love that little place. Worked in front if it for years before I got a chance to check it out. Never shot their but stopped in a few times and everyone seemed nice. Its just one of those places that has been there forever and no one knows about. Even many of the cops who work that area have never heard of it...
