My girlfriend gave me the go for a big purchase I already have many guns on a list to choice from. But while in Riley's today we both were in awe over the Armalite AR-50 . So I had to add this to my list of guns to choose from. I was hoping to get some input on the rifle from owners or previous owners.

I haven't owned one, but put 4 rounds through one. Kicked as much as a 12ga shotgun. Pretty dang heavy to carry around, but it was awesome to shoot!

PixelPusher's friend owns it. i would shoot a PM to him.

A fifty is a big investment. Be sure to check out all your options (Barrett, Serbu, McMillan, Armalite, etc.) before putting down that kind of cash. There are many excellent choices.

Of, fill out a Form 4 and get an Anzio Arms or the "not yet ready" Serbu twenty [smile]

The AR-50 is a true beast! I love taking that thing out. I personally cannot attest to overall accuracy because for the most part the only thing I've really shot with the thin is cars and a few pumpkins from less than 100 yards.

I did take a few shots with it at 150 yards and the group was good and I'm sure I could have done better if I had really been trying.
My buddy that owns it honestly hasn't shot the thing beyond 100 yards and it gets more use by people at NES shoots when I bring him (or just that rifle).

As Inferno stated. The recoil from this thing is gentle. If it wasn't for cost, I'd shoot the thing all day long and not be sore afterwords. The muzzle blast on the other hand (especially for people to either side of the shooter) is just about as rude as you can get. That for me is a bonus though.

I will say from what I've read from other sights about the AR-50 it has no issues holding its own accuracy wise and like I said is absolute JOY to shoot.

Anzio Arms 20m - $13,000

Ammo - $10/round

Look on CLEO's face when you bring your form 4 in for signature - priceless

It can't be much worse then when I walked in with my green card application. :)

Also, I feel the Serbu will be much cheaper whenever they finish it. In fact, at $2200, the Serbu 50 is a great deal and I have been tempted to get one. (The M107 is upwards of $9K)

If you want to try the BFG-50A Serbu let me know and we can get together some time.
