I've been thinking about asking the wife for Beretta 92fs for birthday. I had one a few years ago and I regret selling it (rookie mistake). However I'd love to get an M9 instead. I'm curious as to how rare M9s they are in MA?

I know a couple people on the board own them. Do you have to know the secret handshake at the FFL, or do these just show up sometimes. What's a typical price tag?

Thanks!!

I think there might be one at AG Guns in lowell, MA. I remember seeing one on consignment for a while. I think it was like $900 though. I'm a former Marine and have carrried one and shot one extensively in the Corps. I bought a new American made 92fs for a lot cheaper at another well known shop in the area and can't tell the difference. I've fed it tons of NATO spec 9mm and never had a stove pipe, FtF, or any other problem. I'm no expert, but, take it for what it's worth. BTW I plan on buying a M9 myself, just because I wan't to collect all of the organic USMC Infantry Arms that don't require a green card (live in Newton, MA.... No Chance).

I just like the look of the M9 a little better. I never had trouble with my old 92FS though. I wouldn't mind paying even $100-200 more for an M9, but I can't pay $900 when they are online in free states for $600 :(

Sometimes I get the feeling that MA might be the best place to live if you like guns [wink]
