Barrel shroud

NH doesn't make anything illegal above and beyond what Federal law makes illegal. Which means you can put anything you want on your gun except making it full auto with out paying the tax (and getting a kit from before 1986, slide-fire is legal for now), making a rifle less than 16" with out the tax, and adding a suppressor without the tax. You can even mount an M203 launcher. AFAIK, you cannot however get the grenade rounds for it, only flares and a few other interesting but useless rounds.

What is the function of the barrel shroud, just out of curiosity. I'm a newbie to all things tactical.

It has no real function, it just kinda looks like a suppressor.

Oh, thats cool. You can actually buy a suppressor too if you wanted to, I believe. Granted, its a good chunk of change for the stamp and the actual suppressor, though.
