Few years ago I sold my CX4 Storm 9mm to buy another four wheel toy. I loved the 9mm despite my constant complaining of trigger quality.

Recently I have been looking into purchasing another CX4 storm and noticed the 45 Models are selling for a significant lower cost then the 9mm models.

Looking for opinions on both models weather I am better off getting another 9mm or save some money and buy the 45 model.

Thank you

If the 45 model is selling for significantly lower cost than the 9, why do you need to save some money to buy the 45? If you have the money for the 9, shouldn't you have enough money for the 45 already?

If you reload, I wouldn't see why not go 45. If you're paying for factory ammo, 9 will be cheaper.

Big draw back is only an 8 round mag, no way to get a beretta 10 rounder for it. Need to buy a mag extension for 10 rounds.

+1 to the above. I'd go 9mm. (I have the .40, and now wish I'd gotten the 9mm.) Also, have you checked out Sierra Pappa? He makes CX4 parts, upgraded metal ones. It's expensive, but getting the whole linkage is said to greatly improve the trigger. Also, If I'm not mistaken, he makes a 45 mag extension for the CX4.

I'd be saving money if I bought the 45 the difference is about $200

I do the availability for bigger mags I believe I still have a couple.. I am going to end up up getting another 9mm Thank you

I would like a CX4 storm 9mm, but the prices I'm seeing seem really, really high. No way Id pay over 1k for one.

Sierra Pappa parts rock on the Storm. Real upgrades. The stock trigger on the storm blows.

This isn't true. I have a cx4 .45 and px4 .45 and 4 10 round magazines that swap between the two guns. The cx4 magwell insert needed some filing to allow the px4 mags to fit but nothing major. I love this combo and they are both a blast to shoot!

I do have some original cx4 mags with 2 round extensions from before I converted to px4 mags that no longer fit if anyone wants to make me an offer.

my preferred carry being in 45, i recently wanted a 9mm plinker and occasional carry piece.. I was strongly considering the Beretta for style, price, weight, etc.... but the DA was a deal breaker... the Ruger SR9 competed on every level and is striker fired. Go with the Ruger.
