I was going to go with larue to mount offset aim point and acog. But it seems that larue is useless for any rail other than USA picatinny.
So any suggestions?
I would strongly prefer lever.
Thanks

Check out American Defense they have lots of mounts with differebt heights and very high quality.

Sent from my Galaxy S4 using Tapatalk Pro - typos are from the GD auto correct unless they are funny substitutions those I'll take credit for.

Maybe you can post a picture showing the type of setup you are aiming to replicate?

Is the problem solely because of the non-standard 1913 rail the Tavor uses, the slot down the middle? Seems like LaRue is the only maker that sees this as a problem?

Am I missing something? I picked up a UTG rail with MicroDot on it at the BR&P gun show, it was owned by a friend who mounted it on a flat-top AR-15. It fits my Tavor perfectly and was a breeze to dial in. Come January I'll be getting an EOTech for it and have another mount for that. The UTG/MicroDot will be transferred to one of the ARs I'm going to finish building.

I'm really confused... I've got a tavor and I didn't notice anything weird about the rail, does that slot down the middle matter? My only issue is the height of the rail relative to the butt stock and needing high mounts.

It has a grove in the middle while American rails dont

UTG is trash. I have experience with them. Range toy at best

The groove apparently matters to LaRue, it shouldn't be a problem for mounts that aren't designed to put pressure downwards against the middle of the raised part of the rail?

UTG may be a range toy, but so is my Tavor and all my other long guns.

Unlike some folks here, I'm not going to be an "operator", and therefore I don't need to pay $200 for a mount for any gun I own.

YMMV

Unless and until I decide the Tavor is a "go-to" rifle (need more time with it...), I just have a Bushnell TRS25 on mine with a UTG high mount. On an AR15, I find the "medium" mount to work best, but since the Tavor rail is lower it needed the High mount.

Thanks. You hit the nail right on the head for me. I have a spare TRS25 I was thinking of using on it. Do you have a link to the UTG mount?

Len,

How is the height on that setup. I have a Tavor, but don't shoot it much.

Apparently you need a bit taller mount for the Tavor than a typical AR mount. Have you found that to be true?

Don

The UTG setup I bought at the BR&P gun show is actually a UTG very high, see-thru mounts with the Millett red-dot. It is 1.5" to center of the optic to co-witness with the iron sights.

The mount that I purchased recently to go with the EOTech I'll buy after the first of the year (EOTech only allows 1/yr under the Instructor discount program) is the UTG RS10L, Flat top riser mount, 1" saddle height. ~7oz, made of aircraft aluminum. Should work OK for a non-operator. [wink]
