Best price on the BG380

Unless you really have your heart set on it, I would pass on that pistol. It's not a great pistol for various reasons, primarily because the trigger is awful.

Ruger is about to put out a new version of the LCP, perhaps with their new style trigger. Another option would be their older LCP which has been discounted because of the newer version.

A second option would be the Sig offerings. They are a bit more money, but they don't look too bad and are pretty small.

I have an original 380 BG and love it. I just want a non laser M&P

Four seasons is your best bet. I have an M&P BG380 non laser. Love it. Anyone who says the trigger is bad does have good trigger control, IMO

The trigger is only shit because its 3 miles long DA pull, an LCP has a pull only about 2/3rds as long. Of course the Galloway kit makes a big difference, though.

I owned one and wasn't happy with it. Much to small for my hand. Also after 50rds the magazine wouldn't stay engaged. I contacted S&W which acted promptly, provided a shipping label, repaired and returned within two weeks at no expense to me. Once I got it back I sold it.

Ymmv but I 1 hate paying for 380. 2 bought a glock 42 and am pretty sure that's the golden standard for 380 s now gun is phenomenal to shoot. 3 realized that big hands and small guns don't mix

I own or have fired most of the small 380's and I still like the Sig P238 the best. It is expensive but I have had no issues at all. The BG is just a poor design and has a lot of issues that can be fixed but if you buy it because it is cheap them put a couple hundred in part into it, whats the point.
I have several friends with 42's and they have been hit or miss as far as out of the box reliability.

I don't mean to be a dick but I think I'll be a dick:

How about we answer the guys damn question before we shoot our mouths off in 800 other directions? He asked for the best price on a BG380, not how you liked it, or didn't like it, or what the reviews were, or advice on another gun that costs $200-$300 more than what he's looking for?

sorry, carry on, must be that time of the month for me.

Haven't shot a 42 myself yet but from handling them and reading reviews, etc I would not call them the gold standard. I like the Sigs but not for the money. I have a Kahr CW380 and love it. Typical Kahr trigger that is buttery smooth and it is small, like a pocket gun should be.

I tried a LCP and hated it so much I wanted to violently throw it down the range and shoot it with a gun that was worth owning. OK, maybe that's not fair, I know it's not a crappy gun but I personally hated it that much. Shot a BG380 and liked it better than the LCP but I still preferred the CW380 by a wide margin.

I just hate to see someone waste their money

Seems to me that guns in Massachusetts are more expensive than in Connecticut. I make this assumption based on some of the " for sale" posts on this forum. I saw a used glock 42 for $600 and a used glock 21 for $700. In Ct a new 42 is $400 All day long. A 21 can easily be had for $550

How much is a new Colt AR there, compared to MA?

I disagree:

The S&W M&P Bodyguard 380 is a good CCW, when your looking for SMALL... Like in pocket carry!

Agree, love mine. Hides away in my pocket. And I am not worried about one in the chamber because of the long trigger.
Can't help with the price question, I got mine from a member here for a great price.
Sig 238 is almost identical in size and is 3x the gun. It is a little more expensive however. I have a BG380 a couple 238's and a 938. The only reason I still have the BG is I don't generally sell any guns.
The only issue with the Sigs is it take a little getting used to the cocked and locked.
Of all the pocket 380's I have shot, the BG has by far the worst trigger and it hasnt proved to be dependable, light strikes and other annoyances.

the LCP custom is out and reviews says the trigger is much better (but bright red)

Its a good reasonably priced pocket gun. Hides mint...and is a good backup gun. The trigger is just a long pull, once you get used to it, it's fine. I hit clays in the dirtbank at 20 yards with it easy. Flawless too. I burn thru a box pretty quick with it, and it pretty fun to shoot. Think I paid around $280 for mine at Pullman...that was a few years ago.
