I've been a Glock and 1911 bigot for decades.
However, I'm also a wuss when it comes to bulk and weight while carrying.
The 42 is too big for a pocket gun. I bought one when it came out expecting it to replace my LCP. Nope. Too big.
I eventually found the Kahr P380. It's as small as an LCP but shoots much better.
I've now added a Shield 2.0 as my "big little gun".
In the 9mm realm, I owned a 26 and shot IDPA with it for 3 years before adding a 34.
I bought it to carry, but never did. It was too big and heavy.
Then the 43 came out and I bought one of those. The original triggers were TERRIBLE, with enormous stacking just before the break. It was impossible to shoot it fast with any level of accuracy. I did to the 43 something I'd never done to a Glock before. I put in an aftermarket connector.
But it still only held 6 rounds. So when the P365 came out and I got to try one I was smitten.
It held 10 rounds in a package smaller than a 43 and had a nice smooth rolling break that lended itself to fast accurate shooting.
Recoil was also much less than the 43. I just simply shot it much better than the 43.
Don't jump to the idea that I'm an Sig fan boy. The 365 and 210 are the only sigs I like.
As far as Smiths, the M&P line is great. But I've never shot them as well as I've shot Glock. I've owned a few and sold them.
So here we are 10 years after the release of the 42 and I don't own a single Glock that I carry.
I still shoot my 34 a lot.
But this Glock bigot's carry guns are now a Kahr, Smith, and Sig.
The rear sight isn't bad. It's just wide. I like a wide black sight. So it works for me.
For decades, I've been flipping Glock sights around and filing them wider because I'm cheap. (and they work great this way)
The Bodyguard saves me the trouble.
