You are probably anticipating recoil and pushing the firearm prior to it firing.  It's a common problem among people who started shooting centerfire guns before they were really ready.  It's why I like to have my students get at least 500 rounds through a .22 before we move onto centerfire.  It's easier to not develop the bad habit than it is to fix it. 


I'd suggest you do ball and dummy drills with the gun.  You will find that the gun pretty much instantly stops shooting low. 

You will need someone to help you with this.  you won't know if the gun is loaded or not and if it will go click or bang.
